James Gallant, Partner
James Gallant has been involved in the oil and gas leasing, seismic permitting and right-of-way business since 1980. Mr. Gallant is a company founder, responsible for its operations, and has 29 years in the oil and gas industry. He has an extensive background in survey and the negotiations of right-of-way acquisitions, as well as management for thousands of miles all through Canada and the United States. Mr. Gallant has been instrumental in the development of GIS mapping systems for project management.
Myron Korpan, Partner
Myron Korpan holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Geology from the University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario. Mr. Korpan is one of the company’s founders and has 30 years of experience in geology, geophysics and land. Mr. Korpan has purchased rights-of-way, cellular tower sites, easements and settled surface damages.
Ronald Brock, Partner
Ronald Brock holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston. He has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and supervises ROWLS’ attorneys, landmen and support personnel. He has directed land activities offshore; on the upper Gulf Coast; and in West Texas, the Rocky Mountains and the western United States. He has experience in preparing land instruments, including assignments, purchase agreements and joint operating agreements, and has promoted prospects and ventures to potential partners. In addition, he has purchased rights-of-way, cellular tower sites, easements and settled surface damages.
Josh Epperson, Lead Web Designer/Programmer
Josh Epperson holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Tyler (2007). Mr. Epperson has more than four years of experience developing ArcGIS mapping applications working for Right of Way Land Acquisitions, LLC, from December 2005 to April 2007 and Right of Way Land Services, LLC, from April 2007 to present. He has experience developing web mapping applications in ASP.NET and more recently Adobe Flex. He is also experienced in maintaining Windows Server-based servers and network environments.
Justin Soapem, Information Technology and GIS Database Coordinator
Justin Soape holds an Associate of Science from Panola College, Texas. Mr. Soape has more than nine years of experience in information technology and more than four years of experience in managing geographic information systems technologies working for Right of Way Land Acquisitions, LLC, from December 2005 to April 2007 and Right of Way Land Services, LLC, from April 2007 to present. He has experience with ASP.NET and Adobe Flex, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server and SQL Server, and in building custom hardware solutions for Windows Server-based servers and network environments.
William Hammond, Operations Manager
William Hammond holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas. Mr. Hammond has more than six years of experience using ArcGIS software working for Right of Way Land Acquisitions, LLC, from October 2003 to April 2007 and Right of Way Land Services, LLC, from April 2007 to present. He has GIS experience in the land management field and has created easements and metes and bounds and has extensive experience reading legal descriptions and mapping into ArcGIS. Mr. Hammond has experience in oil and gas lease acquisition, right-of-way acquisition, crew supervision, due diligence, mineral title and surface title. In addition, he has 20 years of experience in employee management, employee training, marketing, advertising, trade show demonstrations and customer service.
Kelly Elverum, Geographic Information Systems Manager
Kelly Elverum holds a Master’s of Applied Geography from New Mexico State University (1996) and a Bachelor’s of Science in Geography (1991). Mr. Elverum has more than 17 years of experience creating digital analysis and output using ESRI ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and AutoCAD, and managing projects and staff. He has worked as a GIS analyst for New Mexico State University; GIS coordinator for the Department of Planning in El Paso, Texas; and GIS manager for the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands in Fort Collins, Colorado. His experience includes primary and secondary data collection, site analysis, cartography, GIS database design and management, Crystal Reports, technical writing, reporting and coordination. He has also created easements, metes and bounds legal descriptions, subdivision plats, boundary and topographic surveys. He has had specialized training in numerous ArcGIS software extensions and has extensive knowledge of GIS standards and data creation standards.
Ed Ellis, Geographic Information Systems Analyst
Ed Ellis holds an A.A.S. in Geographic Information Systems from Tarrant County College (2004) and an A.A.S. in Business from Tarrant County College (2007), as well as a diploma as a field artillery surveyor in the U.S. Army (1992). Mr. Ellis has more than 17 years of surveying and GIS experience. He has been a GIS analyst for numerous organizations, including Tarrant County, Texas; the towns of Krum, Little Elm, Sachse, Royse City; the cities of McLendon-Chisholm and Ferris; Kinder-Morgan Pipeline; and ROWLS. His experience includes GIS design and map production for water, sewer, zoning, CCN, annexation, land use, thoroughfare and municipal boundaries. In addition he has created easements, metes and bounds legal descriptions, subdivision plats, and boundary and topographic surveys. He has multiple technical skills using the ESRI software suite, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Professional, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and other software. Eric Cox, Geographic Information Systems Analyst
Eric Cox holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Tennessee (2004). Mr. Cox has more than four years of experience using ArcGIS software working for Right of Way Land Acquisitions, LLC, from May 2006 to April 2007, and Right of Way Land Services, LLC, from April 2007 to present. He has extensive GIS experience in the land management field and has created easements, metes and bounds legal descriptions and subdivision plats. He routinely performs data analysis and mapping. He has multiple technical skills using the ESRI software suite, Microsoft Office products, Adobe Professional, Photoshop, Greenbriar Graphics Deedplotter as well as other software.
David Raab, Geographic Information Systems Analyst
David Raab holds a CompTIA A+ Certificate in Computer Science from Panola College. Mr. Raab has more than three years of geographic information systems (GIS) experience, as well as 10 years of information technology knowledge. His experience includes GIS map creation for oil and gas leasehold, well and pipeline maps. He has also produced illustrative maps for lithium extraction in Qatar. He has had specialized training in ESRI ArcGIS and has the ability to perform computer maintenance.
Paul Phillips, Right of Way Manager
Paul Phillips holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration from St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas. Mr. Phillips has more than nine years of experience in the right-of-way and easement industry. His expertise includes examining, interpreting, and drafting oil and gas contracts, unit agreements, and conveyances; coordination of pipeline installation from start to finish, including title research and negotiations, title reports, lease checks, due diligence, and mapping, as well as condemnation service and completion. Mr. Phillips has performed landowner title research in various courthouses in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and Tennessee. He is proficient in ArcGIS, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Paula Ward, Office Administrator
Paula Ward has worked in the oil and gas industry since 1980. Mrs. Ward has been a land contracts technician with J-O’B Operating Company, where she worked on dissolution assignments of mineral, royalty and leasehold interest research and documentation. She was an engineering tech for Sonat Company. She has worked for as a technician and office manager for McGoldrick Oil Company, where she managed all the land records and helped prepare documents for sales of properties, leases and wells with associated equipment. She also managed the payroll department and administered the insurance and 401(k) plans for more than 150 employees and four companies. Since 2005, she has managed offices in Jefferson, Texas, first for Right of Way Land Acquisitions, LLC, then for the Right of Way Land Services, LLC.
